Inheritance Book 4 Release Date

by Patrick on July 26, 2010

So you want to know the Inheritance Book 4 release date?  Yeah, don’t we all.  At the time of writing this, Christopher Paolini has yet to reveal and official release date, or even an unofficial date for that matter.

A while back Christopher Paolini stated that the book will probably be completed between June 2010 and June 2011.  So besides that, it is still 100% unknown.

Despite the concrete release date, many fans have their own ideas of when the Inheritance Book 4 release date is:

Some believe that the release date is never and some people think that it will go on sale any day now.  If I had to bet money on it myself, I would say It will come out in October.  Why? Well, the past books have come out right before the winter holidays, a smart strategy to boost sales.  Also, the Inheritance books generally took about 2 years each, and it is rounding up on two years now.  So, that is my logic behind the guess of October.  It could be a whole year or two, but I am going to go with the tenth month of 2010.

As for when Christopher Paolini will set the release date for the fourth book, we just do not know.  I will update this page as soon as there is any news from Chris is available.  And if you want to know the second the date is released, enter your email address in the sidebar and you will get an email the moment it is public.  As for now, lets have a mini discussion about your thoughts of when book 4 will be released.

I am going to have to disagree, I don’t think Paolini is trying very hard to get book 4 out. The name hasn’t even been released. I would say much much later, like mid next year. Chris is really lagging on the book.

You might be right, but a guy can hope can’t he!

Actually if you look back at all of the books…He has taken 3yrs between all of the books thus far, therefore he will be early if he does get it out by June of this year.

I just want the book to come out already! But I can get why he’s waiting to release the book because it’s building suspense which would help boost sales. My most logical guess is that he would release the book in late october early november. If anybody has any in formation on the release date, or has his email address please email me at [email protected]

Ok scratch my last guess but I think I may have got right this time it’s proably (sorry for spelling or grammer) going to come out anywhere form late January to early July which I’ll say again that’s just to help sails or that it’s taking so long because the book is so good. But I’ll address this issue now he may do the same as he did with the third book decide that it’s too long and create yet another book to sepeculate about or continue the storyline after the fourth book on another website I read he was planning another 6 books he wasn’t sure weather or not he’ll continue the eragon saga.

I don’t think it will come out in October, although i really really want it too! He hasn’t even released a name yet (although i’ve heard rumors it is Eldunari, which i hope it isn’t) & if it cam out in October that info would have been everywhere by now

Brisngr September 14, 2010 at 9:23 am

Well, I think it will be any time from now to the christmas holidays. And as for the name of the book he already knows the name he just hasnt realesed it. The reason i think it will be realesed soon its tha i went on shurtugal.com and it said in an interveiw that the book was almost finished.

I’ve read so many websites about book four and the suspence is killing me! I keep thinking about senarioes where Eragon saves the day or what ever, I even had a dream about Saphira and Thorn! Creepy right? Personally I think it’ll come out in March 2011, but I can’t be sure. I just hope he won’t split this one cause if i have to go through this again, I’ll just about die! I really am Eragon-crazy!

I wouldn’t get your hopes up. They haven’t released the title, cover, or release date at all yet. Probably not going to be in the next two months… probably not going to be in the next 6, for that matter. I’d shoot for a fall release to be safe. Maybe you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

It’s unfair to say that chris is lagging on the book. I adore the books of inheritence and so do my friends. Nut it takes a lot to write a book. I’m happy to wait because it’ll make it all the better when it comes out. :)

Reply

Darth November 28, 2010 at 9:04 pm

I hate waiting. If I had the power, I would choke hold publishers till he released the book… He’s one of the most talented and truly fantastic authors I’ve had the privilege of reading – I read him more than Tolkien. If he could just solve this, I have to wait 2 murdered jaba years to find out what happens next thing…Knock Knock! Who’s there? Wait two years and hope to find out. I’d end it all if I wasn’t faced by an eternity of not getting to read this book. Great fan base. If he goes much longer, we’ll riot.

Reply

Seeing as how he’s said in interviews that he right near the end now, how was is ever going to come out in October this year. Probably more like October NEXT year. Don’t be mad at him. He’s trying to write you a good book. Be mad at the publisher because even when he’s done, they’re gonna hold its production back until they can get the most money for it.

Every time I look at my incomplete set of inheritance books…I cry. This is worse than waiting for the end of the world, if I actually believed in the “world ending in 2012″ crap and only had a year to live. The only way I can keep myself sane is to reread the books like twice a year!!!!

judging by the size of brisingr this next book will be pretty hefty and its the last one so it wont be rushed. since theres beek no official reveal of a name or cover or release date, its likely we’ve got at least another 6 months to wait. which is a bummer…

I am going to be 69 yrs old this year and I hope to hell I get to finish this series or I’ll really be ticked off. The books are great. The movie..okay. I was hoping they would do movies for the next three, but by the time the 4th one comes out, I’ll probably be dead. I’ll come back and haunt him for you.

yeah i am going through the same thing. I have read these books to my infant daughter since she was in the womb (so she could get used to my voice and know me) i read all 3 to her over and over, and yet over again each time i admit i glean more insight, more ideas, more enjoyment over all. That said my daughter is now 4 years old and is asking me when we can “Finish” the story Saphira and Eragong papa read Eragong! It would be great to read it to her soon before she goes off to college would be fantastic. however too much longer and she can, and will, read this book on her own.

lets go publishing company at least tantalize us with a release date and picture of cover…maybe a sprinkling of the title?! I know they want maximum profits but come on, too much longer and those who arent great fans as we are will start to go wayward growing disinterested and that will hamper your profits lets go come on. Lets end this cycle for good or for better!

vadersapp April 8, 2011 at 1:34 pm

Hey Jeb, and anyone else who hasn’t read about it yet. Random House relased the info already. The Title is “Inheritance” (I know, I have problems with the title, too, but it’s the contents that count.). The Release Date is November 8th, 2011. And if you wanna see the cover, it’s the one with the “Pre-order” banner across it at the top of the page.

Reply

Jebadiah November 5, 2011 at 7:06 pm

so anyone remember whom that pre-order banner at the top was through i cannot remember whom it was with. borders, barnes and noble etc… i did a preorder and i have no confirmation on it that I can find. any helpful Ideas? thanks!

It’s time already CP. Get your act together and get the darn book done. I’ve read the first three about 4 times each and am definitely ready for the 4th. Don’t make this little old lady come out to Wyoming, Utah, where ever the hell you are and smack you up side the head. FINISH THE BOOK!!

Reply

Ferro January 30, 2011 at 7:52 pm

Oddly enough, my sister and I each got the other the 3 book set for Christmas. Who would’ve thought…. Anyway, we never had all this waiting game with Anne McAfferey’s (sp?) dragon rider books…. I’d be willing to bet that the 4th book is done and Random House is delaying the publishing, in pursuit of more money. I don’t think CP would do this to his fans. Oh, and by the way… I’m 44 years old.

I am 65 years old and am worried that I might not live to see book 4. Not that I’m sick I just want to hurry Christopher along. I am now into reading the trilegy again so that I will be ready for book for.

COME ON CHRIS.

Pat February 2, 2011 at 3:42 pm

The length of the wait is getting a bit ridiculous. Remember that he was already on his way with book 4 while writing book 3. With the lack of news coming through, it is starting to make me think he’s nut cut out to be an author. Could it be that he was merely a lucky kid who happened on a marketable concept and relies on too many others to get a decent book out? Just playing the devil’s advocate here.

Reply

vadersapp February 3, 2011 at 10:12 pm

Pat, 2 to 3 years between 800+ page novels is not unusual at all. Unless you’re an avid fan of shit pile, thrown-together-in-6-month bokks then lay off of him. He’s stated just a mont or two ago that he was almost done. The lack of information on the release is not his fault, but the publishers’. They wanna keep up suspense until the book is ready so that people don’t lose interest. And, as pissed as many people seem to be on here about the books not being out yet, they are certainly interested, so… It’s good marketing, though I hate ever second of it as much as you all do.

somebody February 2, 2011 at 5:18 pm

vadersapp February 3, 2011 at 10:14 pm

Yeah, everyone making guesses in the dark about when the book will come out are just practicing wishful thinking. I wouldn’t guess anytime before this fall. And, btw, it is not he who is waiting to release the title, cover, and release date. The publisher reserves the right to release those when they please.

Reply

Derrick February 23, 2011 at 9:07 pm

I heard from quite a few book stores that the title/book will be release sometime within the next few months. I’v read the series 4 times now. I’m depressed waiting for this 4th book to come out. This is by far my favorite trilogy I have ever read.

C’mon Chris! We’re all waiting on ya!

did you know that in an interveiw (i don’t remeber which one) that the book would come out in between July 2010 & July 2011. right now it is February 27th and it is not out yet so it will come out between now and July, and it will most likely come out in April though i wish it would come out in March. anyway you shouldn’t blame CP, it isn’t his fault it is the publisher. bye now :D
